RRB Technician Notification 2025 Out

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) announced on June 27, 2025, that 6238 positions would be filled this year in their detailed RRB Technician Notification 2025. Starting on June 28, 2025, the Railway Technician Vacancy 2025 online application process will open.

Several production units for the manufacture of locomotives, coaches, and other railway equipment are part of Indian Railways, which is organized into 18 zones. The comprehensive RRB Technician Notification 2025, which announced 6238 Technician Grade 1 and 3 vacancies to be filled, was published on June 27, 2025, for the 2025–2026 academic year. Given that railways typically don't issue notifications so frequently, this would be the ideal opportunity for applicants who missed the RRB Technician openings last year. Applications for the 2025 RRB Technician Vacancy will be accepted starting on June 28, 2025.

Railway Technician Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the role of RRB Technician, applicants must meet the age and educational requirements. The eligibility is different for both Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3 posts.

Candidates for Technician Grade 1 Signal must have a degree or diploma in engineering or a B.Sc. in physics, electronics, computer science, information technology, or instrumentation. OR a three-year engineering diploma in any of the aforementioned basic streams, or a degree in engineering in any of the aforementioned basic streams, or a B.Sc. in any sub-stream of the basic streams of physics, electronics, computer science, information technology, or instrumentation from an accredited university or institute.

Candidates must have completed their matriculation, SSLC, and ITI from accredited NCVT/SCVT institutions in order to be considered for the position of Technician Grade 3 in the trades of Forger, Heat Treater, Foundryman, Pattern Maker, and Moulder (Cement). (OR) SSLC or Matriculation plus Completion of Courses Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trades.

Railway RRB Technician Age Limit (as on 01/07/2025)

• Technician Grade 1 Signal: 18–33 years
• Technician Grade 3: 18–30 years

Railway RRB Technician Application Fee

The required application fee must be paid by candidates when they apply for the RRB Technician Vacancy 2025.

• For candidates who are members of the SC, ST, PWD, female, transgender, minority, or economically disadvantaged classes: Rs. 250 (which is fully reimbursed upon taking the CBT assessment).
• Rs. 500 for other categories (refund of Rs. 400 upon appearing in CBT).

Exam Pattern and Syllabus

 

 

Pattern & Syllabus of CBT for Pay Level- 5 Post, i.e., Technician Gr I Signal 

(i) Total Duration: 90 min & Total Questions: 100

(ii) There shall be negative marking @1/3rd marks for each wrong answer. 

(iii) Normalization of marks will be done for CBT held in multiple shifts

Syllabus for CBT of Technician Gr I Signal: Questions will be of objective type with multiple choice answers and are likely to cover topics pertaining to the following syllabus 

General Awareness: Knowledge of Current affairs, Indian geography, culture and history of India including freedom struggle, Indian Polity and constitution, Indian Economy, Environmental issues concerning India and the World, Sports, General scientific and technological developments, etc. 

General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and decision making, Similarities and differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions, etc. 

Basics of Computers and Applications: Architecture of Computers; input and Output devices; Storage devices, Networking, Operating System like Windows, Unix, Linux; MS Office; Various data representation; Internet and Email; Websites & Web Browsers; Computer Virus. 

Mathematics: Number system, Rational and irrational numbers, BODMAS rule, Quadratic Equations, Arithmetic Progression, Similar Triangles, Pythagoras Theorem, Co-ordinate Geometry, Trigonometrical Ratios, Heights and distances, Surface area and Volume; Sets: Sets and their representations, Empty set, Finite and Infinite sets, Equal sets, Subsets, Subsets of a set of real numbers, Universal set, Venn diagrams, Union and Intersection of sets, Difference of sets, Complement of a set, Properties of Complement;  Statistics: Measures of Dispersion: Range, Mean deviation, variance and standard deviation of ungrouped/grouped data; probability occurrence of events, exhaustive events, mutually exclusive events.

Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc. 

General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, 

Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and decision making, Similarities and differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc. 

 

General Science: The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level. GeneralAwareness: on currentaffairsin science&technology,sports, culture, personalities, economics, politics andanyothersubjectofimportance.
